Make circle time fun and educational with these easy to learn songs set to familiar children's tunes.
Circle Time is a pivotal part of the day with preschoolers. It’s a time to settle down, focus, and learn about the calendar, the weather, the theme for the month or week, and other important things you feel the need to focus on for the day. It’s an organized time, a time for reflection and a time for planning with your preschoolers on the days events. But more importantly, it’s a time of learning. The songs below are just some ideas for you to include with your Circle Time Activities. If you’re able, create a poster board for each song with large block letters to reinforce Reading and Phonics Skills, pointing to the words as the song is sung. Teaching the Days of the WeekClapping or clicking tongues can replace the snapping. You can change the words to match what you’ll be focusing on with your children to make it fit your themes and lesson plans. To further this activity song on poster board, add pictures to velcro over the matching words (a snowflake for the word "snow", etc). Use the pictures at first and then as the children memorize the song, start taking the pictures down to reveal the words.
